Beer in the Evening

I like this pub. Guinness and Deuchars IPA has always been well kept and served well. Sunday morning brunch is really good. One of the best value meals in Edinburgh!

The Antiquary pub is such a lovely place to spend time. if you're looking for a fancy wine bar then this is definitely not the place, but if you like cosy old fashioned pubs with roaring fires then this is definitely for you. The pub has very friendly bar staff and a good selection of drinks which are slightly cheaper than other more flash pubs in the area. There's a very warm atmosphere about this place, where you can quite easily sit and chat with the locals. One night of the week there is a fantastic pub quiz with an eccentric quiz master who could keep you entertained for hours. I've never eaten in the Antiquary but old flat mates have assured me that their Sunday Roast is fantastic and great for getting rid of your hangover!

We were lucky to find that The Antiquary Pub, near us, has folk music on Thursday evenings. We arrived at 9 PM and found more than 25 musicians having a great time: there were more than 15 fiddlers, a bagpiper, a harpist, a flutist, Irish penny whistlers, a banjo player and a mandolinist, and an accordionist. They played and sang for hours. It may have been the highlight of our two weeks in Edinburgh!

The Antiquary serves beers, wines and spirits alongside a selection of sandwiches, salads, snacks and brunch. Catering for vegetarians is also available.

Fantastic session (Folk night, Thursday), starts at 9pm. Big basement pub in stockbridge, lots of room for musicians and there are always plenty of them there with a wide variety of intruments and styles. Very friendly, brilliant atmosphere.

A dark, downstairs den of traditional beersmanship, with bare wooden floorboards and dark wood tables and chairs, the long-established Antiquary has lively open folk-music sessions on Thursday nights at 21:00 , when all-comers are welcome to perform.

Stockbridge cool and folk nights. This basement pub is on Stockbridge's coolest street, otherwise lined with antique and junk stores. The ambiance is definitely student new town chic. A coal-effect fire and comfy furnishings give the three rooms a homely feel. There is an informal folk music session on Thursday nights - check the press or venue for the latest details.

Familiar review but hopelessly wrong photo.
The Antiquary is located right in the heart of Edinburgh, Scotland's famous capital, and is a beautiful basement pub on Stockbridge's coolest street. The pub has a great atmosphere and its ambience is definitely student, new town chic. The pub houses an informal folk music session on Thursday nights, and the beautiful coal-effect fire and cosy furnishings give the three rooms a comfortable and homely feel.

A long basement Edinburgh pub that is split into two sections by the bar - you will love the Edinburgh bars like this.
